The Eileen Farrell Memorial Website

designed and created out of love for a wonderful person.

Many of you remember Eileen Farrell as a great friend, a loving daughter, sister, and most of all a caring mother. Eileen was a Crossing guard, and as you know loved manning her post on the corner of Corpus Christi School in Woodside, NY. Eileen is no longer here with us, we lost her to a tragic accident on November 17, 1994, while she was doing what she did everyday, protecting children. Eileen will remain in our hearts forever, but now we can gather together and remember her.

The Eileen Farrell Memorial became a reality when friends suggested The Farrell Classic Golf Outing include Eileen’s name. The original idea of the outing was for friends and family to gather for a weekend of golf and fun times. Now we have a great reason that Eileen herself would cherish, “Happiness is Camping”.

"Happiness is Camping" is a sleep away camp for children who just happen to have cancer. It is a free camp that is centered upon contributions and volunteer services. One of those volunteers was Bobby McMahon. Bobby was a friend who for ten years volunteered as a counselor at the camp. Bobby was also a fireman who lost his life in a senseless tragedy that America will never forget. He died doing what he loved to do, helping others. Bobby was an inspiration to all who knew him and what better way to honor Bobby than to be a part of something that meant so much to him.

Our goal each year will be to remember Eileen, honor Bobby, and make a difference in each child’s stay at the camp, through the continued contributions from the Eileen Farrell Memorial Golf Outing.
